Project Golden Rules
Engineering and design of platforms, facilities & infrastructure. Real project photos and videos will be added as they become available. These projects have passed the Golden Rule below.
Does your project meet the Golden Rule?
It Must Work
The Project must solve the correct problem without creating new ones
It Must Be Operable
- Operations must be able to Energy Isolate the install safely
- Operations must have adequate and accessible valving, controls, process equipment and etc required for Energy Isolation
- Operations must be able to start-up/stop the project anytime and under any circumstances, safely
It Must Be Reliable
- Must be able to start-up safely and in a controlled manner at all times, without damaging the process equipment
- Must be able to be shut-down safely and in a controlled manner at all times, without damaging the process equipment
- Emergency Shutdowns must be done safely and in a controlled manner at all times, without damaging the process equipment
- Must be able to run with minimal to zero operational interface — once it starts, it should just operate
It Must Be Maintainable
- All equipment parts must be purchasable by maintenance for repairs
- All critical spare parts should be purchased as part of the project and on-site for maintenance
- Maintenance should have vendor training to be able to repair all equipment
- All equipment must be accessible with appropriate lifting devices so maintenance can remove equipment without destroying the module
